Held in Belo Horizonte since 2010, DevDay is considered the biggest event related to software development in Minas Gerais. The seventh edition will take place on Saturday, September 2, from 8:30 AM to 6:30 PM, at the Engineering School of the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG). The approximately 500 registered participants, besides participating in more than 30 lectures, will have the opportunity to directly contact several companies considered leaders in the field.
One of the highlights of this year's edition is artificial intelligence. A great focus of the moment, it is thanks to the improvement of AI that every day we are faced with the simplest uses, like service bots, to the most sophisticated ones, like orthopedic prostheses and personalized recommendations in shopping sites.
Another focus of the 2017 edition is accessibility, with call-outs in the event fanpage with the hashtag #ParaCegoVer (for the blind to see) and lectures given by the visually impaired, about their activities as developers, relevant legislation, and how new technologies can be important allies. "How blind people develop software : from conception to implementation" will be the talk of the editor-in-chief of the Blindtec portal, Marlon Brandão, who has been dedicated to the study of assistive technology and accessibility for 20 years.
For Juan Pablo Rivillas, Systems Manager at Viridis and speaker of the event, "it is very important to be able to participate in events like DevDay because they promote learning and offer lectures on the most current technologies on the market. Keeping up-to-date is critical for a developer, and it's important for companies to see that value and support this kind of event to keep it going." His lecture will address the topic Machine Learning , technology used in his daily work at Viridis.
Viridis believes in this idea and is a partner of DevDay 2017. In addition to institutional support, Viridis encourages its team to participate in the event.
